In June 2014 I was selected to serve on The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi’s national Council of Students for the 2014-2016 term. I represent chapters in the west region of the United States, connecting with faculty and student leaders to support their interests and goals. Along with the nine other students on the Council of Students, we develop projects aimed at uniting chapters, building service project efforts and enhancing communication approaches. One of our major efforts has included forming the second Student Vice President Summit that will bring together student leaders from chapter across the country. During my first year of this term, I have taken minutes during our meetings and helped plan our inaugural Phi Kappa Phi Twitter Chat Night, in addition to taking care of other duties shared among the Council of Students representatives.
The members of the Council of Students for the 2014 – 2016 term include Andrew Stofleth, Alex Herbst, Alexander Tran, Stephanie Confer, Cameron Sargent, Columba Ferdinand, Monica Mejia, Brett Nachman (me), Tyler Dufrene and Gina Colaianni. The latter two also serve as vice president for students on the national board.
